Ballard Eliminated From 2026 US Open Cup After Loss Against Valley FC

Ballard suffer late one-goal loss in the final round to US Open Cup qualifying to Fresno-based UPSL side Valley FC

Ballard will miss out on the 2026 US Open Cup following their loss against Valley FC. The Fresno-based team travelled all the way to Interbay Stadium to upset the USL League Two giants.

Ballard sent out an iconic, powerful squad against Valley. Former Seattle Sounders player Lamar Neagle featured in Ballard shirt once again alongside Ballard icons such as Declan McGlynn, Khai Brisco, and Lars Helleren.

The game stayed as a close competition, and Valley’s winner came at the 87th minute via a close-ranged freekick, finding the lower left corner of the Ballard goal.

Ballard FC will now shift their focus to preparations for the 2026 USL League Two season, where the Bridges will ultimately seek to return to the national championship game.
