Yeimar Out 4-6 Weeks with Calf Injury

Yeimar is set to miss the next 4-6 weeks after sustaining a calf injury, Head Coach Schmetzer revealed at training. The injury news came one day before the team’s away game at Portland, and the timeline will rule him out through at least Leagues Cup Phase One.

Yeimar has been dealing with injury issues the entire season so far, due to a hamstring injury that’s kept him sidelined since March 7. Yeimar only played three games in total where he registered 90 minutes in the Sounders’ home opener against Colorado, and played at Real Salt Lake and at St. Louis.

The Sounders are already missing Jackson Regan due to a two-game suspension due to the second yellow he picked up at the last minute in the team’s away loss at Austin. The backline will be inexperienced, but Schmetzer had previously stated that he has trust in his younger options.
