The Sounders announced that the club traded two international spots, one to Atlanta United and the other to Sporting Kansas City, for $500,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM). From the independent trades, the incoming GAM is split evenly between SKC and Atlanta. The $250k in GAM coming from SKC will be for 2026 and the other $250k from Atlanta will be for 2027.
Following this trade, there are no more open 2026 international roster spots available to the Sounders. The two occupied international roster spots on the team belong to Kim Kee-Hee and Yu Tsukanome, where Nikola Petkovi? does not occupy a slot since he was placed on the Season-Ending Injury List.
The announcement comes the day after the humiliating 5-1 home defeat to the Portland Timbers. The club made no new signings since the departure of Georgi Minoungou for $1 million in 2026 GAM and another million of 2027 GAM, leaving millions of dollars of General Allocation Money in the current season’s budget alone.
