Alex Roldan, Nouhou, Osaze De Rosario, and Danny Musovski signed new contracts for the Sounders, the club announced on Tuesday morning.
Roldan, Nouhou, and De Rosario’s new contracts are valid until the end of the 2028/29 MLS season, with a club option until 2029/30. Danny Musovski signs for one year less, where his contact will be valid up to the end of the 2027/28 season with a club option for 2028/29.
Closing in on 200 appearances in all competitions, Alex Roldan joined the first team in 2018, and the new contract length will carry the defender over the ten-year mark at the club. Nouhou, who was a captain in Cameroon’s latest Africa Cup of Nations campaign, joined the first team one year earlier than Alex and has made over 200 appearances in all competitions. While the defender made his ambitions for playing in Europe known in the past, Nouhou will also be set to reach his ten-year anniversary as an active Sounder.
De Rosario joined the club relatively recently, first featured for the Tacoma Defiance in 2024 and then promoted to the first team in 2025. Son of Dwayne De Rosario, Osaze shined for the first team since he signed his initial contract. Since the beginning of the 2026 season, the forward took on a higher role in the squad and is looking for his first competitive goal of the 2026. Danny Musovski also joined the club in 2024, where he joined from Real Salt Lake and performed for the club soon after joining. Nicknamed ‘Moose,’ Danny Musovski so far has 20 goals in 77 appearances in all competitions as a Sounder.
If the club options are eventually picked up, the move will secure the foundation of the squad for the rest of the decade. Many supporters would still like to see more new signings by GM Craig Waibel, particularly a higher-profile addition, and it is unclear if the club will be able to make summer signings as things now stand. However, re-signing the four players provides the clear benefit of keeping a core group of players around, maintaining stability within the squad over the longer term.
As of March 7, 2026, the Sounders had about $243,090 in General Allocation Money (GAM), and any salary increases may impact GAM at a certain point. During the offseason, the Sounders used a significant portion of GAM, which was over $5.5 million in January. Any salary changes remain undisclosed until the MLSPA releases the figures later in the year, and updated numbers for GAM will also have to wait until the next disclosure by the league.
