The Sounders deliver a late Christmas present and have today announced the new contract signing of fan-favorite Paul Rothrock! The Seattle-born midfielder signed a new three year contract, extending his Sounders future through the end of the 2028/29 season with a club option for 2029/2030.
Despite exploring possibilities with other clubs, Seattle has secured the deal. Paul Rothrock was rumored to be in conversations with various teams in the MLS and even the EFL Championship. Rothrock’s return will surely keep fans happy and create even more competition on the left wing.
Rothrock’s decision to stay in Seattle speaks volumes to how connected he feels to his boyhood club and how eager he is to bring an MLS Cup back to Seattle. With Rothrock locked in for the long run, Seattle gets to keep a fan favorite and continue to show their commitment to producing homegrown talent.
