Schmetzer revealed at training this week, ahead of the team’s road game in Austin, that Jordan Morris will be out with a injury for a minimum of four weeks, sidelining the striker for another multi-week period this year.
Morris will certainly miss Seattle’s Cascadia road game in Portland on August 1, and will likely miss the Leagues Cup Phase One in August.
The Sounders suffered a devastating 5-1 defeat to Portland at home on July 16 and have a growing list of unavailable players. Alongside Morris, the MLS Player Availability Report for the Sounders states that following five other players are confirmed out: de la Vega, Kee-Hee, Petkovic, and both Roldan brothers.
Ahead of the team’s road game in Austin, Yeimar and Sailor remain questionable.
