After Wednesday’s training, Brian Schmetzer revealed that loanee midfielder Nikola Petkovic injured his ACL during Saturday’s training. Details on Petkovic’s surgery will come later as both Schmetzer and the club figures out those details with Charlotte.
Schmetzer described the injury as “a serious blow to the kid obviously, and to us as a club.” Petkovic was in an upward trajectory with his performance as a squad player, Schmetzer stated afterwards.
